Dr. Adam Brett Met (formerly Metzger) is a musician and activist. He is the oldest of the AJR brothers and is currently 33 years old. He plays bass guitar and percussion. He also provides vocals, programming, and samples. Adam graduated from Columbia University in 2012 and has since earned his master’s degree and a PhD in international human rights law.
Adam received a BA from Columbia University, majoring in business and philosophy, an MA from New York University, and PhD in International Human Rights Law from the University of Birmingham.
Adam is also the Founder and Executive Director of Planet Reimagined, a non-profit organization that works with business and organizations to promote activism and sustainability. He also hosted a podcast with the same name, inviting activists and creators to share their stories and inform the audience on a variety of topics around sustainability.
Adam used to host weekly Instagram live streams entitled "Trivia for Good", where he would ask a series of 10, random trivia questions to the fans. The questions can range from pop culture, to science to politics to even AJR facts. Each time, he would have a charity to donate to, and would donate a certain amount of money for each person who got all the questions right. He has since stopped, and has mentioned the idea of doing them again, though hasn't given an official date of when just yet.
Adam announced on his 33rd birthday, August 27, 2023, that he was offered a job at Columbia University. He has said that he will still be taking part in tours and concerts.
