This article is about old AJR content that is considered lost. Recordings of it may still exist on the internet, but adding them to this wiki is strongly discouraged as the band no longer wishes for the content to be publicly available and it will likely be taken down.
"Piano in Your Pocket" was the seventh track on one of AJR's old albums, Born and Bred. It was deleted after the release of the I'm Ready EP, and most recordings of the song have been taken down.
Lyrics[]
[Verse 1]
Ravens fly up in the sky
High above the mountain
Let's take a look at a babbling brook
Rising like a fountain
[Chorus]
Why not play us a song
With a piano in your pocket
And why not play us a tune
Before I have to go
[Verse 2]
Children sweat
Their mothers let them play out of their vision
Little do they know they have to go
For they are on a mission
[Chorus]
Why not play us a song
With a piano in your pocket
And why not play us a tune
Before I have to go
[Bridge]
Everyone and everything
Find a place in life
But please excuse me if I'm off the subject
Maybe I was right 'cause if you
Happen to find a lonely place
With nowhere to go but down
Take me there I'll help them with myself
I think this is just a kiss
Waiting for the moment
You can't rush what can't be touched
For you can't change the past
[Chorus]
Why not play us a song
With a piano in your pocket
And why not play us a tune
Before I have to go
[Outro]
(Piano in your pocket)
Before I have to go (In your pocket)
Before I have to go
